Amit Chanana

Founder & CEO, Equaltoo Foundation
Social Impact Leader | Employee Rights Advocate

“I founded Equaltoo because silence is not an option anymore—not when working professionals are being left behind in a system built to overpower them.”

Amit Chanana is the visionary force behind Equaltoo Foundation — a first-of-its-kind, India-based nonprofit committed to rebalancing the workplace by advocating for employee rights, professional well-being, and dignity at work. With over two decades of global corporate experience across Europe, the U.S., and the Middle East, Amit has witnessed both the best and worst of workplace practices — from inclusive, lawful environments to exploitative systems disguised as policy.

It was during his return to India that the stark gap in employee rights, access to justice, and workplace transparency struck him deeply. He saw first-hand how countless professionals were left vulnerable—battling contract violations, mental health issues, unfair terminations, and systemic biases, often without recourse or support. This was not just unfair — it was unacceptable.

Driven by a deep-rooted belief in equity, empathy, and empowerment, Amit stepped away from his high-growth corporate career to build Equaltoo Foundation. His goal was clear: create a neutral, powerful support system for working professionals — a space where legal support, mental well-being, and career advancement aren't privileges but entitlements. Under his leadership, Equaltoo has become a growing movement — engaging with coaches, counselors, legal experts, HR and government leaders to deliver direct, meaningful support. Amit’s ability to bridge corporate know-how with social responsibility has positioned Equaltoo not just as a nonprofit — bu t as a revolution in the making. Any revolutionary cause based journey is defined not only by bold ideas, but by action—mobilizing communities, forming powerful alliances, and pioneering solutions that uplift the most marginalized.

When he's not leading change at Equaltoo, Amit actively mentors professionals in distress, speaks at forums on mental wellness and employment equity, and continues to advocate for systemic reforms in India’s employment practices.

Words that guide him

"The true measure of a society is how it treats its most vulnerable — and in today’s world, that includes our workers."
